A Force for Good: Daniel Goleman on Peace

The new book A Force for Good by Daniel Goleman, author of Emotional Intelligence brings forward the Dalai Lama’s vision of a more compassionate and peaceful world. It is a true call to action:

Act Now, Wherever You Are
Having a clear mind and a compassionate heart can make you better able to help others. Good intentions are essential, but we also need to act on them. “Everyone can find a context where they can make a difference,” the Dalai Lama says. Collectively, all of our actions—from donating food or goods, to spending time with children who need support, to helping out a neighbor—can make a big impact.

I caught up with Daniel Goleman in London after the Action for Happiness talk with the Dalai Lama on the UN International Day of Peace 2015 to ask him about peace and working with the Dalai Lama.

For more than half a century, in such books as The Art of Happiness and The Dalai Lama’s Little Book of Inner Peace, the Dalai Lama has guided us along the path to compassion and taught us how to improve our inner lives. In A Force for Good, with the help of his longtime friend Daniel Goleman, the New York Times bestselling author of Emotional Intelligence, the Dalai Lama explains how to turn our compassionate energy outward. This revelatory and inspiring work provides a singular vision for transforming the world in practical and positive ways.
