Road to Peace Pilgrimage celebrates the Dalai Lama
Commemorating the Dalai Lama’s 80th year, our Peace Pilgrimage from London to Glastonbury in June 2015 will be a symbol of Interfaith Harmony
The Road to Peace team are excitedly preparing for a Peace Pilgrimage next month in celebration of the Dalai Lama’s 80th year and his advocacy for Global Peace and Interfaith Harmony.
Travelling from London to Glastonbury from 14th to 28th June, the pilgrimage will be a physical prayer for peace through the English landscape. Our route will be a mix of ancient and modern, following rivers, prehistoric trackways, canals and footpaths. Dubbed the ‘Glastonbury Tales’, it is a modern re-telling of an ancient story – a re-dedication of the pilgrim pathways that were for millenia walked in peace and contemplation by untold thousands of people.
Westward toward Glastonbury Festival, the Peace Pilgrimage will visit river sources, holy hills, churches, monasteries, places of legend – as well as towns, schools, villages, communities and interfaith groups – on its progress toward the dream of meeting the Dalai Lama, who rumours whisper may be visiting Britain at this time.
There will be opportunities to join the walk in easy stages, details of these to be announced soon. Please come join us for an hour or a day, to walk awhile in peace. We hope to see you on the path!
